Markets: The Carisbrook monthly market is held on the first Saturday of each month from 9am to 1pm at the Carisbrook Reserve. Avoca Riverside Market is held on the fourth Sunday of every month from 9am to 1pm, and the Talbot Farmers Market is held on the third Sunday of each month from 9am to 1pm at the Talbot Carpark.
Festivals: The Dunolly Rural Transaction Centre hosts the Dunolly Festival in March of each year. The Maryborough Highland Gathering and Country Festival is held annually in the month of January and attracts large crowds from across Victoria.
Sporting Events: The Maryborough Harness Racing Club holds race meetings throughout the year at the Maryborough Harness Racing Track. The Sutton Grange Winery hosts regular weekend horse riding events. The Carisbrook Lions Club holds the annual Maryborough and District Tennis Championships in January.
Art Exhibitions: The Central Goldfields Art Gallery holds regular exhibitions featuring local and regional artists throughout the year.
Concerts and Performances: The Dunolly Cinema hosts regular movie screenings, live music and theatre performances for the local community. The Maryborough Highland Gathering and Country Festival features a range of musical performances and traditional Scottish dancing.
